Backup camera g coupe problem
Backup camera g coupe problem
I recently got a backup cam installed on my 08 g37 coupe and everything is great except for the fact that when I back up faster than 2km/hr the video will shut off and tell me it will resume when the vehicle stops. I know a bypass thread is not allowed but could someone offer some insight to why electrically this is happening? Is it a speed sensor cable or?
It sounds like its not hooked up correctly. It's hooked up as if it's a normal video display and therefore it is being shut down because regular video output isn't allow it to displayed while the car's in motion. You would have to bypass this. This discussion is allowable because it's a backup camera, not about how to allow videos to be viewed while driving.
So does anyone know how to bypass this issue? I am planning to get the backup camera installed on the license plate light also and will have to feed the camera into the aux input and am thinking I will have the same issue. Help please!?!
Any video that is going through the AUX channel/RCA inputs will be interrupted if vehicle speed exceeds a certain limit- usually 2-3mph. Whether you are going forward or backward this safety feature will kick in every time. It is relatively easy to bypass this feature- I just did it- but I will not advise how because of forum rules and legal reasons. Just google the topic if you want to know more- at your own risk.
Now I don't know if a OEM camera setup has a built-in override for this feature or not. I don't have a camera (sorry, I'm old school- I actually turn my head to look back). Perhaps other members can shed more light on this.

Hi ILM-NC G37S,
Since you just performed the bypass would you be able to help with my problem here: https://www.myg37.com/forums/audio-v...nt-blank.html? I'm not asking about how to do the bypass but I just need to know what I could have done wrong to cause the screen to go blank and not come on anymore. I'm at a complete lost...please help if you can...thank you so much!!

I will post here what I posted on the other thread:
It sounds like you might have missed a wire harness connection somewhere. There are like 6-8, more or less, different harnesses behind the AV Controller.
I would check to see if the radio and A/C work first. If everything else checks out I would open the console back up and double check all of the connectors. Those wires are VERY small gauge so don't flex them too much.
When I did mine it was a little tedious to get all of the harnesses in the right spot for the controller to fit back in the recess. It's possible something came loose during reinstallation.
As for the window, if you disconnected your battery while working on your project, the windows will need to be reset. That should correct that problem.
