Please Help - Screen Went Blank!!!

I hope I'm not breaking the forum rules but I really need help. I know the forum does not allow us to talk about how to do the bypass and I am not asking about how to do that. With that said though, I did attempt to do the bypass today and now my screen is just completely blank and I don't know why.

Please note that I am not trying to watch movies while driving. I am trying to get my car ready to install my backup camera and that is the only reason why I attempted this (I really did not want to open up the center console at all).

At any rate, can anyone please let me know what I might have done wrong to cause the screen to go blank?

The car starts fine. I've checked all the fuses and they are all fine. As such I have no idea what I could've done wrong to cause the screen to not turn on. When my car is on it seems like the fan is blowing but when I push AC or try to turn the temperature up or down the nothing works. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? Please help... =(

EDIT: BTW, I have a 2008 G37S 6MT in case the info is needed...

I noticed another thing on my drive home tonight. When I open the door, the window goes down as usual. However, when I close it, it does not go back up.

I honestly have no idea what I did that would have caused these issues... =(:

It sounds like you might have missed a wire harness connection somewhere. There are like 6-8, more or less, different harnesses behind the AV Controller.

I would check to see if the radio and A/C work first. If everything else checks out I would open the console back up and double check all of the connectors. Those wires are VERY small gauge so don't flex them too much.

When I did mine it was a little tedious to get all of the harnesses in the right spot for the controller to fit back in the recess. It's possible something came loose during reinstallation.

As for the window, if you disconnected your battery while working on your project, the windows will need to be reset. That should correct that problem.

Thank you so much for the reply ILM-NC G37S. I am about to go down there and open everything back up now and just retrace the whole process again. I'm hoping that it was as you said a lose connection somewhere. I'll keep you posted.

As far as resetting the window goes, can you please elaborate on how to do so? I only disconnected the battery after the fact because the screen wouldn't come on in hopes that the computer needed to be reset. I know..rather dumb but it was late, getting dark, and I was desperate. =\

Thank you again!!!

UPDATE: I got it!!!

In case anyone has the same issue as me, the back of my screen has 2 identical connectors. I must have switched the 2 last night which is why the screen would not come back on but I made sure the right ones went to the right plug this time. Once I put everything back together, it started up no problem!

Major thanks to ILM-NC G37S for all his help!!!

Now I just have to figure out how to reset the window. If anyone knows how please let me know. =D

I don't want to be that guy but....if you can't do the factory window reset, you're going to have trouble with any other electrical mod.

I was a newb at one time and have blown my share of electronics.
I'm just saying, take your time and be 120% sure you are connecting the right cables, harnesses, etc.

Like you said Blaze, we were all newbies once. Luckily for him it was a easy fix- no harm no foul. If the hundred of types of connectors, why Infiniti used two of the same type for the same component is ridiculous.

Either way, glad I could help for once. Best of luck!

You more than helped ILM-NC G37S, I wouldn't have been able to do it without your guidance today.

The instructions you gave me for the window worked perfectly - everything is good now. Thank you for all your help and for being patient with me!!!
