Help Mechanic switched my buttons
Mechanic switched my buttons
I just brought my '12 sedan in to get the analog clock light replaced. Afterwards, I noticed that 2 pairs of buttons (the ones around the screen) got switched--for example, in order to change between AM and FM, I need to press the "info" button, and vice versa. Sounds like he had to unplug them and then crossed the wires when plugging them back in. How can I fix this myself? Thanks.
Doesnt really work like that. The connection between the switch panel and the A/V system uses a serial bus. It's not merely a reversal of wires. Sounds like something got messed up.
If you want to wait for the next time you have to go there, I would strongly suggest you at least call them and tell them what happened. I would do this immediately. If I were the person who did the work and you waited a couple of weeks to even let me know about the problem, I would likely think you were full of it and trying to scam me. If you don't at least report it to them ASAP, you're running the risk of them telling you to go kick dirt.
