Cigarette outlet doesn't work
#16
Hi All, (I have a 2012 g37xS)
Apologies for the bump but I'm having the same issue where both the arm rest and one near the shifter are not working. I checked the fuse box near the footwell but can't determine which one is the fuse for the cig ligher. I showed the stealership last time I went in to get an oil change and they said I'll need to replace the fuse box. I think that sounds a bit drastic, no? Does anyone know which in the picture I took of the fuse at the footwell the cig lighter is? I checked under the hood and nothing seems to reference the lighter.

Thanks 'Stealthee'...I too figured that was it after reading up some more. But the fuse I pulled out looks to be good and not broken. Just in case I still changed it with the space and still not working

Use a meter and check for voltage at connector M-132 terminal 2

*Update*
Thanks All !!
Turns out I had to replace the "20A Socket" fuse a few times before one worked (weird how the others were bad but didnt look it) and the meter testing passed too
was getting frustrated so I even went and removed the console (thanks to nicoclub.com link by telcoman) to see if the cable was loose just before the last fuse replacement.
Still not sure why Infiniti decided to write 'Socket' instead of 'Cig Lighter' oh well... glad I didn't go to the dealership and replace/pay for parts I didn't need.

SAME HERE; MY FIX, Both the fuses needed to be changed in G37 10'
I had this problem for a long time with 2010 G37 then one day I went in with a tester. The fix was I had to change both fuzes: Cigerette Lighter and Power Socket.
Seemingly if the power Socket is blown then they both go out. But it is possible for the power socket ( in arm rest) to work without the cigarette lighter if only the cigarette lighter is blown.

Fixed!
So jus in case anyone else is having this problem. My lighters and power socket stopped working I changed the fuse 20A called "Socket" even though it wasn't blown and it still didn't work. However I found the 10A "elec parts batt" was blown. Changed it and everything is working now.

Fixed my Cigarette/ power outlet.
My 2013 G37x sedan had the same cigarette/ power outlet problem. The diagram only showed the one for socket checked that and it was good. The storage compartment worked so thought it might be corrosion on positive tip. Attached a small grinding stone bit gave it a one second contact, and the outlet works again.

Same on 2013 G37x
