Flash Card music skipping?

I have been looking for an answer for a while and can't find any help so far. I have a 09 g37s with the compact flash drive for music. I loaded the music onto a cf card adapter I saw another guy on one of the forums say he used no problem and have tried 2 different sd cards with it to load music. While the car shows all the names of the mp3s on the screen when I attempt to play a song it plays a half second then pauses for about 2-3 seconds then plays another half second and pauses again. I also seem to be having difficulties when I attempt to scroll through the songs in that it has massive slowdown. It did speed up a bit when I deleted down to 130ish songs on the card but supposedly it should be able to handle around 400 songs no problem. Has anyone else noticed this problem and before I purchase a dedicated CF card and reader I just wanted to see if I could get some feedback since even if I cut the songs down to 100 per SD card that would still be a pain since I have a few thousand songs. I was planning on keeping a few SD but not that many. Thanks in advance again.

Assuming problems are a result of the cf card being a type II card instead of a type I card. Ordered a type I card and will see what results.

you can't scroll for your music while still playing.

He probably has the 08-09 model with the older head unit. 2010 and up have a newer system (like yours judging by the screenshots)

Is it possible the files you ripped are at a high bitrate?

I didn't consider the bitrate, yea i have an 09. I saw the flash card and I want to use it since the ipod doesn't charge. What bitrate should it be at?

I wouldn't go past 192 as that was the norm when your car was released. Can't hurt to try. Probably won't notice any difference with all the other car sounds in the cabin.
