Subwoofer Enclosures

I am currently looking for some options and suggestions on some subwoofer boxes.

Right now I have a home built box with "1" 12 Inch Alpine Type R with a Alpine PDX M12.

Recently my subwoofer blew after a month of use.

It is being sent back atm to see if I can get it warrantied.

I have heard good reviews on the subwoofer; so I am probably still going to go with the rype r

I was wondering if anyone knows a good website where I can buy a box.

I am planning to change my current set up to "2" 12 inch type r's

Also I forgot to ask if I should get a ported box or a sealed box.

I have the Infiniti Basslink powered sub assembly and it sounds great, plus it does not take up a lot of room.

are you wanting something that is custom made to fit in your trunk or do you just want a quality box?

if you dont want to spend a ton of cash a small sealed box will run around $100 or so. You can find some on ebay for $40 shipped.
A prefabricated box will not sound the best in ported applications.

When buying a sealed prefab you run into less issues. Find a sub you like and then find a box that has the specs the sub needs.

try zenclosures Custom Sub Enclosure | Affordable Sub Box or 4080 boxes try a search on here for them or the imitations. the zenclosure boxes come sealed or ported, with 1 or 2 subs but only up to 10". the 4080 can do 8-12" single. I have a 10" sealed zenclosure with a alpine 10" type-r that I traded out for a 4080 type 12" because I wanted more trunk space. the zenclosure box hit pretty hard with the single 10" but nothing earth shattering. the 12" is a little better, but the increase in trunk space is night and day. This is all for the coupe, so if you have a sedan then any stereo shop box will work
