*The reason I believe that, is it would be cost prohibitive to mass produce these dvds based on an individual key.

This is my same thought. That's why I want someone to upload the first disc so we can look at the files and see if we can reverse engineer them. Obviously people on here have it. Not sure why no one is stepping up to help the rest of us.

I'm also looking for the first disk, for a different reason.. There's a scratch on mine that's caused an error in the update. Now I'm stuck with a screen that asks for disk 1. Would appreciate anyone that can provide me a copy of disk 1.

Because it's licensed software that they had to pay for and not freeware? Just guessing...

Important information for 09 owners wanting to update.

I spoke with the service manager at my local Infiniti service dpt. (Harper Infiniti in Knoxville TN) and was told if you own an 09 (hard drive based system) and you purchase the update, you MUST have it installed within 3 days or the activation becomes invalid. Glad I asked because I work for the next seven days.

Also, Harper's charge for installing the update is $76.00 on top os the cost for the update.

Since I have an 09 and my maps are from 09, I'll go ahead and update them...reluctantly. I went to Nashville a few weeks ago and a lot had changed since my maps, especially the POI's. Almost every restaurant we picked from the POI's was long gone.

^ Hey thanks for the heads up man, I just ordered it this morning for my 2009 via a 800 number provided to me buy my dealer. $108 with 2 day shipping. Before I hung up I asked the lady about the expiration and she's like oh yeah forgot to tell you. I asked how long she said she didnt know, I asked if it expires to I have to buy a new one she's like uhhh maybe???.....

My advice would be to get this bad boy installed as soon as you get it haha..

I'm just glad no one on this site has ever used pirated software before...

Lots of sarcasm.

I think in reality, people are more carefree with data they obtain illegally than they are with software/movies/music they actually bought themselves.

I have no interest in the map update, just the firmware. If someone could help me out, I'd really appreciate it and could send a few bucks your way for your time/trouble.

Ditto. I'm curious to see what's different vs what's in my 2010 with no updates.

Updated road maps and POI's would be my guess.

More specifically than the map updates, is there a firmware update and what changes does it make to the system? Any improvements, features?

I have an 09 with the 09 map version, so it is likely that the nav firmware on mine is a few generations old.

I bought the set and installed it in my 2011. It does have a firmware update disk but I have no clue what improvements it made....I am going to search for information on the web and look at the disk in my computer. You would think they would include a list of changes. Must be a secret..

Just an FYI. Installed map update and few weeks ago. Last Sat tried to locate train station. I kinda knew where it was but wanted nav to direct. Each time I tried to locate by place (railroad station) and by address, nav just exited. I was <5 miles away and station has been there at least 10-15 years. Emailed NAVTEQ and said this is an issue. Let's see what they say.

Could the NAV find this railroad POI prior to the update?

Also, would you tell me if the NAV update can find the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre, in Brantford Ontario. It's been there for decades but is not a POI on my 2011 Nav. Very odd. Cheers
