Glad I asked because I work for the next seven days.

Also, Harper's charge for installing the update is $76.00 on top os the cost for the update.

Since I have an 09 and my maps are from 09, I'll go ahead and update them...reluctantly. I went to Nashville a few weeks ago and a lot had changed since my maps, especially the POI's. Almost every restaurant we picked from the POI's was long gone.

I don't know about the within 3 days. I waited a month before doing mine and it worked fine.

It only applies to the 09 which uses the hard drive based navigation. We are the only ones that have to purchase a code rather than the disks, then go to the dealer and give them the code in order to have the updates installed.... for an additional $80.00.

Just got my 2013 update DVDs in! Reading the directions it says the software update could take 90+ minutes! Has anyone ever updated their navi before and does it really take 90 minutes? I don't know how much I like having the car idle for 90 minutes and I don't have charger.

It does take about 90 minutes. You can leave the on in acc mode only. It should not drain the battery.

Well, I did the update (99.00 for "discounted maps" and 69.00 for my dealer to do the update - only way to do it on an 09 with HDD nav). There are a few things that are different locally as I would expect that have changed.

As far as a "firmware" update, the service manager told me there wasn't one for my car.... hmmm. So there is no new function/features/fixes that I can see.

So, I guess no one knows about the firmware, and what's new in it... I have '11 G which was sold with '09 maps on it (sucks, eh?)

I updated the nav with the ignition in ACC mode. There were no issues and after the update I took the car for a spin.

YMMV on this I would think.

I updated in 2012. Now they're trying to sell me a 2013 update. What gives? I thought the updates were supposed to be every two years.

About to do this on my '09 G37. Any specials or coupon codes to save something off the $149 fee?

I just purchased the update and it has an application version update from what my 2010 had. The old version was X1U62025 and the new one is X1UC2004. I do not know what they changed or fixed.

I am thinking about picking up the 2014 maps. Anyone figure out the firmware aspect of the update yet? I am not sure why I still can not steam music in my 2008 when google maps sounds and other sounds stream just fine. I am hoping a firmware update will magically update this.
