I actually use the navigation system and wouldn't mind paying the $99 for the update but then I would have to pay the dealer for the actual install
edit: contacted the dealer and they would charge $70 to do the install.

The 2010 models and up will not have to go to the dealer and cost more to buy the updates. The models below have to go to the dealer and cost less. I think for the 08's its now 99 dollars. So it comes out to be about the same price one way or another.

Save $50 off the regular price of $149.
Hurry, this special offer of $99 is only available through June 30, 2013.

The update posted in the OP is for the 2010+
It's another $29.95 shipping and most likely, being in Canada, some of us would get hit with duty and of course, applicable taxes. Still looking at over $230 here

I think the firmware update (separate disk) can be used on multiple vehicles but the maps will only work for the unit id on the order.
Weird. My post got deleted BB. I replied to you right after you posted. Yes the firmware can be updated but the nav requires a code specific to your nav unit id code. Like the other two said.
My guess would be yes. It's like that purchasing tech stuff pay premium for bleeding edge (newest) but can save a few bucks for leading edge (not newest).
I'm probably going to get this one. Should be good enough for at least a few years.
