I don't know what are the best words to describe what I'm trying to explain but is there a way to turn off the dashboard completely? like on or off button as you would have for radio/cd.

I'm guessing the answer is No but I wanted to ask because sometimes I just want it to be turned off while I am driving at night.

 

I thought their was an off bottom on them? The only thing that will stay on is the clock. Might have to turn down the lighting part but on mine i could not turn it off completely.

 

On my 37, I have the - and + for brightness and switch for auto to day/night background lights but I have not seen a button/function where I can completely turn off the dashboard.

 

For the dash board there isn't a way to turn it off, but the GPS/Nav unit there is a button that turns the display off, see video below.

 

If I remember correctly, when driving at night and my headlights are on, if I use the "-" button to turn down the brightness on the instrument cluster, I can turn all interior lighting OFF in my car (instrument cluster, dash backlighting). I can then go into the NAV/radio screen options to turn that display off and its completely dark in the car (I think the ambient lighting in the roof might stay lit though).
