2009 G37x. This is not a serious problem but more of an ongoing annoyance with my radio when I turn the car on.

When I turn the car on the radio rarely ever remains tuned to either the station or input that I had on while turning the car off. Most commonly I have the radio on auxiliary with my phone plugged in and when I turn the car on it is tuned to a radio station.

I used to think it would automatically start with whichever I used most frequently but that has since proven to not be the case. More recently, the car is tuned to a station (88.1 in Chicago) just about every time I turn the car on now and I have NEVER manually tuned to this station ever, which makes it even more bizarre. In the past it would usually at least tune to a station I had in one of my presets but over the last 2 weeks or so its has decided that it likes 88.1. Weird.

Any help guidance or input would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

 

Are your presets reset every time as well?

 

I usually listen to music on my iPod, when it is disconnected or disconnected while the car is parked and off (i.e. say battery dies) the radio goes to preset C6 (AM 1010 for me). I haven't experimented enough to say whether it is always C6 or if its always the last AM station but I guess its the failsafe.

 

No, nothing resets, just not where I left it when I turned the car off.

 

Have you tried just disconnecting the battery for a bit to see if resetting the radio fixes it?
