AWESOME! The iPod Functionality fully works with 08-09 G37's with a iPhone 5

The adapter cable is the Lightning to 30-Pin Cable at Apple for $39.00.

iPod control and playlist and everything works perfect like old iPhone or iPod, you can control from Steering wheel like before, I am so happy I really thought it would only charge, I have a 2008 so we don't have a USB option like people with 2010+.

iPhone 5 Does Not charge without G37 iPod Cable + Scosche Adapter, but with the lightning adapter on, the iPod feature in Car doesnt work, so either charge or use as iPod, not both. I am gonna tear of these cables and make my own G37 to Lightning!

Video is also a NO GO, audio works fine via iPod cable or any audio dock or accessories.

Are there any resources to the pins on the stock G37 iPod cable
Wiring, maybe someone can chop wires and connect a lightning port so iPod feature works & Charges, Scosche just moves some pins around, it would do both and wouldnt have (3) adapters on at once. Sounds like a fun mod I am willing to try but need wiring diagram. Should get a extra iPod cable to play with.

-Have a 2008 G37 with Navigation and all the bells and whistles-

Some people are running into lightning adapters that don't work.

I have two lightning adapters. One works perfectly, but the other doesn't at all. The non-working one shows "No iPod" on the display, but "Accessory Connected" on the iPhone. I am going to exchange the non-wroking one and see what happens. The non-working one works fine in all other applications I've tried.

With the one that does work, I can plug in my Ridax charging adapter and I am able to both charge AND play music.

I had the wired lightning adapter first. It didn't work. I sent it back and got the short one. It has full functionality with charging when daisy chained with the Scoche adapter I already had.

Can anyone confirmed this, poster above said that some were defective, so its possible the wired one I have is defective, would be odd that the shorter one is wired differently, but I will get it exchanged and give it a try, the other one is too short and too many things connected to each other

I purchased only one adapter. It is the non-wire adapter (short adapter) and it works perfectly with my '09 non-nav premium. Doesn't charge, but all controls work via steering wheel.

I also tried a friends short adapter. This one also worked perfect.

Idk what people are talking about them being defective. I'm a pretty big apple guy, and there's only a few people saying the short adapters don't work well...but they're talking in terms of clocks/docks/accessories, not cars.

I have the Scorsche adapter and both 30 pin to lightning adapters. The small one works for ipod, pandora, etc and charges. The 30 pin to lightning with the cable in between worked for 30 seconds after I went over a bump. That's it!! I'm going to try returning it and getting another.
