You shouldn't need to disconnect the battery. Do if you like. I would let the tech figure out whats wrong with it. That's why we have warranties.

for whatever reason my 2011 doenst like my ipod. It works for a bit then loses connection.
Tried 3 cables but no change
I loaded a 16gb flash drive and it has worked 100%
worth a shot and you will gain storage space =)

I have an old 5.5 gen, 80GB iPod Video but I have recently settled on using a Sandisk 32GB Cruzer Fit simply because it uses virtually no space in my console

this pic reminds me I need to vacuum in there.

^ Not sure if asking me?
With the USB flash you still have album art displayed on the car LCD.
Getting the folder structure right can be tricky though. The head unit reads the folders in the order they are created (stupid method) rather than alphabetically. There are free Windows OS utilities that will let you modify the created/modified date of a folder and subs but for me it's not worth it.
Fortunately I like all the music I have so I simply set it to play 'All Folders Random' and then once in a while when an artist/group I want to keep listening too comes on I change the setting to '1 folder repeat' or '1 folder random'. Obviously this doesn't meet everyone's requirements.
OP - sorry for being so OT
