Anyone using this cable

to connect a 3GS to a Nav equiped 09 ?

I don't have it, but I wonder if it would allow the iPhone's screen to be displayed on the Nav screen?

 

If it does work, I believe it would only allow videos to be streamed to the nav screen. Remember, the nav screen will not display any video unless the car is in park (I think it needs the parking brake enabled too).

 

well, not really talking about sending videos to the screen, but just the screen of the phone, like Pandora.
But you may be right. I was hoping someone had tried it.

 

just go buy the cables and if it doesn't work how you like return it. easy as that

 

I use that cable and it works great. To display your iphone screen you will need to hack your iphone. This will allow your iphone to display everything on your screen as if it were displaying a video.

so you can see real time iPhone screen while moving? Like Pandora and Waze and google maps? Does the car;s display go dark when the iPhone screen sleeps?

and by "hack" you mean jailbreak?

yes you need a jailbroken phone. then you will need to download "display out" via cydia so you can view your iphone in realtime. there are plenty of DIY on this subject on youtube.

 

how about factory unlocked iPhones?
