I got my carpc to send video through the RGB input. The resolution is wayyyy better. It is very close to the full resolution of the screen. I'll try to post a picture later.

The GVIF box is the way to go for Carpc install. I'm running at 800x480 resolution.

If anyone is interested in doing this, you need a video card capable for composite sync and compatible with powerstrip. I'm running ATI HD 4350.

Settings for powerstrip:
+ Horizontal sync
- Vertical sync
Composite sync
32 mhz pixel clock
60hz refresh rate

Modme,

Are you controlling the touchscreen with this module? Do you need to wire in a touchscreen controller between your carpc (or other device) and this unit to be able to control it with the existing touchscreen? If so, any chance you could throw up a basic schematic of how you have it connected.
Thanks
Al

Modme, how did you connect the RGB cable to your carputer? Did you need a unit to convert VGA to RGB? Or did you extend the RGB cable going to the GVIF device and put a VGA end on it?

I used an older video card, Anti HD 4359 which supports composite sync. Then I used power strip to adjust the horizontal and vertical sync rates. Qdis just recently released a demise called SMI that might be able to convert HDMI to rgb. I might experiment with this new product soon,

Since this is just the input for the monitor would this work for the non-nav 2010+ models? If not is there any way to get video into the non-nav 2010+ models?

This allows you to watch video, say off an iPod or DVD player, on the Nav screen?

Wow I searched very long to find this thread. Finally! I just want to be sure I'm getting the right box. It know it's 2 years later but their site has two different modules and both say they support Nissan/Infiniti.

This one. (GVIF Interface for Lexus/Toyota/Land Rover/Nissan/Jaguar)
GVIF Interface for Lexus/Toyota/Land Rover/Nissan/Jaguar - GsmServer

And this one. (GVIF Interface for Nissan / Infiniti)
GVIF Interface for Nissan / Infiniti - GsmServer

No, check out NavTool. I just installed mine yesterday, and it switches through two inputs with the push of a button. I haven't gotten the chance to hook anything up, but the inputs work!

I know this thread is old but I am wanting to find out where I can get the GVIF interface that ModMe got. Model: QVL - GF08 - V7
PRODUCT CODE: GF08 - 1106 - 004

The place he originally bought his first one from does not list this model. I think I have a line on the 2010 Navi screen for $100 and I would love to add this interface so I can complete my CarPC. I have looked for this information for over a year and just found this thread. Any help would be appreciated.
