This is why companies need to always build in a usb port for firmware flashing/upgrading purposes. Work's great for TV's

I'm glad I just bought 1 unit and did not do the group buy. Would've been a nightmare.
Same problem with my kit, they thought I actually had one of the newer units/firmware so I hope it is just a firmware issue! I may ask if they would be willing to let me flash the firmware as I'm assuming it is just a PIC chip and I have all the gear to program them. They probably won't, but no harm in asking.

I received mine already. It's a completely different unit. It's more than a firmware reflash. The newer unit is slightly smaller than the older one and has a different wire layout. I have not had the chance to install it yet.

I so want this mod as I will be hooking up a carpc to my unit. A quick question tho, does it switch between modes with the aux/cd button or do you have to make a separate button for it.

Got my new unit, attempting hook up tonight. The new one is different as Modme noted. Looks like more wires and still no instructions lol. They sent me an extra Nissan GVIF cable so I'm gonna try to extend that a few feet so i can actually install the box somewhere. They used a clever way to protect the GVIF wires from interference by wrapping the ground wire around them so I hope the video remains clear after extending. Stay tuned.

My replacement arrive a few days ago and I had a chance to install tonight.

The good news was that the factory video now appears (which it didn't on the old one) but when selecting any video source I just get a black screen. I found some instructions online but no help, I do get a green light when a video source is present (which it mentions in the instruction) but nothing on the screen. Also pressing the setup key sequence on the remote has no effect.

Interested to hear how you get on..

I basically got the same thing. Did you try hooking up the CAN-L and CAN-H wires? I did not try that yet with the new unit but there are a bunch of other wires that i cannot account for. I emailed them to ask about a new set of directions. Hopefully they have something useful.

I havent gotten a chance to install mine yet, but it doesnt sound like its going to work. There is no point in installing the CAN wires. They are only compatible with Rangerovers for switching inputs.

Did you guys try flipping all on off switches?

No I didn't try the CANbus wires, but I think they only work with one of the cars (Lexus I think) and then it is just to do the switching with existing source button. The switching is working with either remote or wired switch so I don't think that will help.

Most of my wires are labelled and not needed. For example there is wire for each input that goes +12v when that source is selected
