ModMe any update on this? If it's all good I would defenitly look into building in a PS3 into the glove compartment (yes it would require modding the ps3 case w/ probably a custom one or routing it to the trunk who knows.. hopefully the components of the ps3 be consolidated ^_^)

I received the interface and I've been playing with it the last couple of days. So far I have not gotten it to work at all. All the inputs are only showing a black screen with flickering white line across the screen. I've contacted support and am waiting for a response. Prescott, have you received your unit?

Modme: Any update? I have my kit (arrived a few days ago) but haven't had chance to play with it yet.

I have been trying to hook this up today but so far i can only get a black screen similar to what MODME described. This unit doesn't come with any instructions, so i'm just shooting in the dark. I may have to contact the company tomorrow.

Okay so the second attempt did not go any better then the first. As I mentioned earlier, it did not come with any instructions. They do have a guide online (http://gsmserver.com/content_file/pr...GVIF_v6_xx.PDF) but it doesn't explain much about the wires. I found that the purple "safe" wire needs to be grounded, but didn't make a difference for me.

No matter what I did, I could only get a blank/black screen with some interference. It seems to have no problem interrupting the video signal, but cannot or will not display any video. I even tried hooking the CAN-L and CAN-H wires up behind the AV unit with no results. I also went as far as hooking up the rear camera wire to 12v source and was rewarded with the same black screen of failure. I have some pictures but with it not working, I don't think it is worth much to post 'em.

Video clip here

The other Issue I have is that the Nissan GVIF wire (Cable for GVIF Interface Installation in Nissan / Infiniti - Cables for Video Interfaces - Multimedia Interfaces - Car Electronics) is exactly like it looks and only about 8 inches long, which doesn't allow for enough room to install this interface box. For $45 they could probably make it a little longer.

Anyways, i hope someone else can get this working, I have run out of ideas. I don't know what happened with Modme's attempt. As for now I just filed a claim with PayPal to get a refund.

Just got this Email from GSMserver:

We know the reason of the problem in your interface. The problem is that we received a quantity of this interfaces from the supplier that are not flashed for Nissan and Infinity (y!).

Thats why where are 2 options of problem solving:
1. You will send the interface back and we will refund money back to you.
2. You will send the interface back and we will send you one with updated software for Nissan and Infinity so it will work on your car.

Looking forward your decision.

-I am willing to send it back and try the new one, so we'll see how it goes. Stay tuned.

I had the same problem and I sent the unit back. Apparently, the people at gsmserver didnt bother to install the firmware for Nissan and Infiniti before shipping the units. I'm waiting to receive my unit. Will update when I get the unit back.

I'm glad I just bought 1 unit and did not do the group buy. Would've been a nightmare.
