Exclamation Navigation issue

This is my first post since joining the forum in November, 2010.

I love my G-37 coupe, but I never get a chance to drive it very much out in Northern California.

I did not buy the factory navigation option, but I do have the backup camera and screen. I use a nice little Garmin GPS unit that cost me next to nothing compared to the factory optional navigation.

My question to all that may read this post is simply this:

Does anybody know anything about part, or service, or website that sells or installs navigation that will interface with my existing hardware?

Here is why I ask, there is a seller up in Canada offering on eBay a screen touch aftermarket navigation system I am thinking about buying:GPS SYSTEM FOR NISSAN AND INFINITI - eBay (item 250739229013 end time Apr-06-11 11:41:15 PDT)

Anyway, I would appreciate all comments from you all out there in Infiniti land whether you drive a coupe, convertible or sedan.

Who knows, I may start driving my coupe more if I can find a more user friendly GPS.

are you sure you don't have the Nav package? as far as i know the only way you get the backup camera is if you have the Nav package only unless they start making those standard on the newer models.

It really depends on what year it is, that determines if it has a back up cam or not. For instance and simply put all 2011 G's have backup camera as standard with sonar added on the premium package. It really depends on what year the op's G is.

I would stay away from the ebay nav.

I agree, if you have a back up camera, you most likely have the nav especially on an 08.
It may not work because either the map DVD is not present or the DVD player itself has malfunctioned. I'd take it to the dealer (warranty or not) and have them figure this out for you before spending a dime on e-bay.

There is no DVD for the G's...its all HDD

to the OP......what year is your car? it makes a difference determining if you can or cannot do the upgrade.

if you have a 2010 or 2011 model.....you can have the camera withOUT the nav. adding the Navi is not a simple software upgrade but rather a whole system change that can cost around $3-4k.....which is most than if you bought the car with it....totally not worth it...save ur money.

HOWWWWWWWEVER if your car is NOT 2010 or 2011....and you have a touch screen....that that means you have Navi (also check the buttons, there should be stuff like DEST, Route, Zoom)......in which case there is an issue with the navi system

DIRECTUSNAV PRODIGY ONE after market navigation

I have a 2010 without navigation, but with a back up camera.

Anyone seen this website for after market navigation products: http://directusnav.com
OR this video: YouTube - Nissan / Infiniti G37 - Prodigy One Touch-Screen Install

Nice! They did it on an old rental car (notice the no-smoking sticker).
