Samsung Fascinate Android

Hi,

I am trying to play music and Pandora from my Samsung Fascinate through my car. I have a 2011 G37 with nav. Whenever I plug it in it just says "connect to USB or Ipod." I try selecting something but nothing happens. I just end up hitting the back button and giving up. Is there something wrong with the car system or the car just doesn't take android phones?

Thanks

You have to get the bluetooth option. Press aux button 3 times and choose bluetooth audio or you can do it with voice recognition. Make sure your phone is first setup as default audio stream. You can go to bluetooth menu and choose audio options and choose your phone for streaming. Really easy at the end to figure out

Yes I tried the bluetooth but my phones bluetooth is not working properly. Isn't the sound quality with the bluetooth significantly less?

This site might be helpful:

Infiniti Bluetooth | Wireless Phone Technology | Infiniti USA

Aside from that, it sounds like it's a phone know-how as opposed to a car piece. I've tried it on a m37x and it works nicely with pandora - then again, I wasn't using a fascinate

I have a Fascinate, didnt get to test it in the G37 that I just bought (maybe I should have!) but the whole setup worked fine in my parents ES350.

Its definitely not something you can first setup while driving, so obviously make sure you are parked. You need to enable bluetooth on the phone first.

This is the procedure from the owners manual:

Connecting procedure
1. Push the SETTING button and select the“Bluetooth” key.
2. Select the “Connect Bluetooth” key.
3. A confirmation screen will be displayed. Select “No”.
4. Choose a PIN code to use with the compatible Bluetooth audio device using the number input screen. The PIN code will need to be entered into the Bluetooth audio device after step
5. Select the “OK” key.
6. The standby message screen will appear. Operate the compatible Bluetooth audio
device. For the connecting procedure of the audio device, see the Bluetooth audio instructions

My edit: As long as the phone bluetooth is already on, you should be prompted to pair/connect it to the car using the code you chose in step 4.

When the connecting is completed, the screen will return to the Bluetooth setup
display.

To access the bluetooth audio press disc/aux until you see Bluetooth as the chosen source.

If you get a chance, please reply if this works. I have the same phone and have a feeling it will work fine, but Im at least a little curious.

Just an FYI, in regards to streaming audio via Bluetooth, the Fascinate works great. A few quirks (might be with the phone or the car, cant tell which) but I drove my new LE back 9 hours and had Pandora running the whole time with the phone stashed away in the console.

Yea I had to bring the phone to a Verizon store to reset it. The bluetooth works well.
