IMHO I think it's better to just stream Slacker Radio (or Pandora) for $0.

Make sure you don't have one of the new iPhone plans for $25. You only get 2GB of usage and that equals 2 hours of streaming radio per day to use the entire monthly allowance. And that is without email, web browsing or apps!

I've actually got unlimited iPhone data b/c it carried over from my old iPhone. But that is a good point for people who are limited on data

I recommend everyone to get onto an unlimited plan with your carrier. I work in the wireless industry and all carriers are going to have tiered data pricing like AT&T just did in the very near future. Get grandfathered in!!

I can attest personally that I've gone over that and never been charged for it.

not sure where you heard that, but pretty sure it's false

Not true. I have exceeded that the last 2 years.

No promo code needed. But you need to call the number above, not their regular line.

I also called Sirius, which was about to renew on my Volvo C30. I asked for the $77 a year deal, they complied.

No password, no cancellation threat. Just a polite request for the discount.

Unlimited on smartphones is exactly what it says...unlimited. However, many carriers set a threshold such as 5GB and once you hit that they don't charge extra, but they "throttle down" your connection to a slower speed to prevent you from using too much bandwith.

Your confusion is that on Wireless Broadband cards there is a 5GB cap that users pay overage on when they exceed that cap.

Anybody who was an existing customer and had a smartphone on AT&T before the new iPhone 4 still has unlimited usage. Customers who are new to the iPhone or AT&T have a 2GB data cap and pay for overages.

It's not false. It is very true. My friend works for AT&T and has seen people complaining but it's very clear in the ToCs.

Now, do they charge you everytime. Typically no. They often reserve the charges for habitual violators of the 5GB cap.

The 5GB cap is for data cards...not smartphones.

I have been a device tester and trainer that specializes in smartphones for a major US wireless carrier. Trust me on this one.
