OBD II Cable Installation

I am going to be pursuing a CarPC and plan on having an OBD II cable for real time monitoring connected at all times.

I was wondering what other people have done to keep the cable out of the way of your legs and from falling out of the socket.

I also wanted to know if anyone has used a OBD II splitter or some such so that you can use the cable and still allow stuff to be plugged into the OBD II port if necessary.

Thanks!

2 screws hold the bracket for the OBD socket. Unscrew it and you can push the cable up into the dash.

After doing that did you remount the port somewhere up where you pushed it or did you zip tie it down?

Thanks for the reply, yet again Modme

I used a right angled OBD2 connector on a OBD2 cable extender because I didn't like it coming down so far, no need to unscrew it. Tie wrapped it to keep it from bounching off. Routed the cable under the console, connected the Access Port dongle and ran the USB cable up to the left side of the steering wheel console for easy access.
