When I was in my friends G37 x sedan yesterday I realized after he turned on his car, the gracenote logo came out on his nav display.

He has a 2010 G37x and I have a 2010 g37 xS, both sedans.

Is there a reason why I dont get this function? or is it in the options somewhere?

 

it might be in the options, or he might have gotten the nav update from infiniti (since you're both 2010's I dont think that is it, but its possible depending on build dates)

 

If you have the Music Box, you have Gracenote.

If your database is old, you can go here to update music files that are not recognized.

years later and I cannot find the update, I found a file on another site with the last update a few years ago but it would not take when I tried to install it from my USB drive I have a 2012 G37 Sport ) I wish the system could be flashed easy to an android system but all I have found is the addon box which is 400$. which I would rather put that into the motor.
