I recently put in Guns 'N Roses Greatest Hits to record to the HD, and Gracenote came up with "Bumpin Chiken" (yes, spelled that way) as the artist and some really off the wall titles for some of the tracks, and only blank spaces as the title track name for others.

Put in Depeche Mode's Greatest Hits, and it simply said "No Artist" and the date/time info for each track listing.

Put in Genesis' Greatest Hits, also comes up with no info whatsoever.

I'm aware I can do the music track update with a CF card, but it seems odd 3 such rather well-known bands (at least G'N'R and Genesis) would throw it for a loop. It's not like I put in "Big Joe's Polka All-Stars" recorded in some guy's basement in 1968.

Any of the rest of you have/had issues like this, or is something more serious going on with my system? Or......does Gracenote just suck? lol

 

That's pretty weird, are all of your other cd's coming up with the right info?
I'm 99% Ipod but I did rip a few cd's to the music box just to try it out and to see if a couple of non-mainstream titles would be properly identified.
Surprisingly, Alpha Team's Speed (as in Speed Racer a 3 track single type cd) and a comedy cd by Mitch Fatel "Miniskirts and Muffins" were both properly labeled...

 

I couldn't even burn the GNR Greatest hits CD to the HDD. The damn thing wouldn't read. Ended up putting on the CF card and playing it that way.

The Gracenote works for me on most everything else. I've had to import some track info w/the CF card, but for the other CDs it worked.

The DB is only as good as the info in it. I hope that there will be an update available for it at regular intervals.
