So I purchase a CD to check out the Music box and so far, no song titles. I know more obsure songs are not listed so I went to Gracenote and sure enough the whole album is there with titles. What am I doing worng? It cant find any titles that I know are in the database?

 

Is this a CD you own or one that was burned???? If the latter, the burner used may not actually have put the necessary data onto the CD due to software or older hardware. Just a thought...

You've indicated that you "purchased a cd to check out the Music box" so we are talking about a store bought, not burned at home cd. Was it a new release?
My guess is the database/info in your G was loaded before that cd was released/added to the online Gracenote database which is updated regularly.
Wouldn't it be nice if our G's were updated via satellite say, monthly?

 

Actually it was store bought, but probably 6 months old release. Do the Gs ever update or am I stuck with music pre 2006?

 

Well, from reading this forum it sounds like updates should be coming but when or exactly how I don't know. In the mean time, are you aware of the compact flash dance?

 

Gracenote says ask Infiniti. Infiniti says ask the dealer. Dealer has no clue what you're talking about. so we wait.

two years later and this still hasn't been resolved? My gracenote is already outdated and I just bought my car 6 months ago. Is there any news on how to update it? My dealer didn't even know what gracenote was! Great.
