Handset Phonebook Not Accessible

2010 Model G37x Sedan.

Makes no sense to me that while driving the Vehicle Phonebook is accessible (not grayed out) through the steering wheel controls (not talking about voice command) but the Handset Phonebook is not.

I don't keep any numbers in the Vehicle Phonebook as my phone (iPhone) automatically downloads to the Handset phonebook anyway. However, since the Handset Phonebook grays out when moving, it is worthless except through voice command ----- which never picks the right name ---- so I end up having to do what is against the grain of promoting safety and occassionally use my handset to find and dial a number.

Anyone else noticed this? Think or know whether it is something Infiniti will fix to make the Handset phonebook not disable?

The software is purposely crippled for "safety" concerns. Because last thing Infiniti needs is a lawsuit by someone who was trying to make a call while traveling 140 MPH in a 330HP sports car and took their eyes off the road.

Short answer - they will never fix it.

The easiest solution is to just load your most used numbers into the vehicle phonebook and add voicetags. It takes 5 minutes to load plenty of #'s.

Is it ineffiecient that you can't access the handset phonebook? Yes. Is there a simple solution to it? Yes
