When did you get this package and what did you ask for? Did you have an offer code?

Thanks!
Shouldn't your quesiton to HBSURFDAD be "What's your phone #?"

You have the xm select package I believe. Look it up on the Sirius website.

Ready for a great update?

Get a charge on my card for $190 from XM last week, call them up, go through three levels of people having shown them the deal I have in writing from them from 2 months ago ($5.09 a month for 12 months, with traffic). I asked them to read what my current agreement said, get told we are not going to honor what we agreed to.

No longer an XM user.

That's too bad. I called on 11/25 and got my usual $5/month for 5 months.

Sorry to hear, but that deal seemed outrageous. Someone made a mistake.

What is outrageous is to charge $10 a month to color a road on a map red or green, when just about all phones have it included now. If 20 years ago someone told me people would pay $100 a month for tv, $15 a month for radio, $50 a month for cell phones for a kid I would have laughed in their face. More power to the companies that get us to pay this, but this is why we are in the financial state we are in.

I find the traffic alert feature along with the colored lines showing traffic flow very useful while on California freeways. Particularly, indications of where an accident or other problem starts and ends are quite helpful to me. Certainly, using a cell phone while driving for this function is not only unsafe, but is illegal in California and perhaps in some other states.

Chekov, I live in Southern Cal as well and find the trafic colors very usefull. I do not use my phone while driving, I don't care if it is illegal on not, it is stupid and unsafe. My point was it is included on most phones for "free", so it can't be that expensive to provide. All I want is some of the non-premier stations and the traffic, I just can't seem to bring myself to pay what they are asking for what exists for free elsewhere.

I also find $5 coffee as crazy as XM. But at the same point I give my full respect to starbucks for changing how people buy coffee and making a lot of money doing it.

I had no problem buying my car because I feel the value and it was worth it to me.

HBSURFDAD,
I understand your point. When I got free XM for the first three months I had no intention of signing on after that, as it seemed unnecessary to pay for radio signals when they’re free on AM, FM and my music box filled with CD’s for that matter. But in spite of excessive XM costs, I liked the traffic feature so much that I decided to stay on.

Thisinformation is not really free on the phone. If you use google maps your charge is the retention of your data plus the advertising. Plus you have to pay for the data connection and these days unlimited is gone. Sirius has no advertising and has to offset the cost is my guess.

Anyone call XM lately to cancel and see what kind of deals they offer? Mine is about to expire and I am curious to see what current deals people are getting.

they are always offering the 6 months for $25

just ask them about it when your 6 moths expire

but look at your credit card statements because they will bill you for a full year at the end of the 6 months.

That is why I get a ONE TIME use number from my CC company for purchases from companies like XM.
