Passport 9500ix - best mounting location?

I have an 09 G37X with Nav and I am thinking about getting Passport 9500ix but I don't want to mount it where it can be easily seen and I don't want to have to take it down every time I park on the street to prevent break-ins. I saw reviews of mirror mounts but IMO they look like they can be easily spotted when some thief is looking in, and also I read about false alarms when the radar is mounted under the mirror.

My friend has his valentine1 installed on the driver side visor, if I get my 9500ix I would like to mount it there. Does anyone have their 9500ix mounted on the visor? Does this mounting location interfere with radar detection or GPS functionality of the unit? And does the GPS in the car affect the GPS in the radar detector in any way?

It does not interfere with the radar detection if you put it up there. the higher it is the better it is to catch radar. As long as you hardwire it behind the tint strip and have your window tinted that I'm pretty sure no one can see it without really try to stare in.

I have my 9500ix on the drivers side visor (far left) as well. I have tried a mount under the rearview and also on the glass in front of the review, but all things considered, I like the visor with visor clip. You cannot see it from the outside. It blocks the windshield view the least. I made a power cord taking power from the review and tucked under the front of the headliner.
