problems with install. please help!!!

Hey everyone, please help! I just spent most of the weekend installing my system on an 09 sedan and ran into some issues that bring up some questions hopefully someone can help me with. I sucsessfully installed Focal polyglass components in the front and some BA 6" 2 ways in the rear, an Infinity Kappa5 amp and used the stock speaker wiring. My problem lies with the remote turn on and signal from the head unit.

My questions are as follows:

1. the #20 pin white power/amp on wire on the b41 harness: is this a true remote turn on? It is acting like an accessory power lead and not a remote turn on, turning my amp on as soon as the car goes onto accessory mode whether or not the stereo is turned on. Is the sedan different wiring? Is there a true reomte turn on? Is this casuing my next problem I'm about to describe? (read on)

2. can you remove the bose amp or does it still have to be in the car and connected for the signal from the deck to function? I removed mine and put an Infinity Kappa5 in the same location. It seems to me it shouldn't be a problem right?

I ask this because I'm getting some odd behavior. The signal from the head unit is loaded with electronic noise and distortion. As a test I unplugged the signal from the deck and ran signal direct from an ipod into the amp and the sound was perfect.

So I then figured I have an issue with my signal from the deck so i checked my fabricated rca plugs and all the pugs had clean soldered connections. I'm concerned now that maybe something happened to my head unit...please no!!!

Any thoughts??? I'm not really sure what to try next. I am going to disconnect the power tomorow from the car hoping a "reboot" might clear up any issue the head unit might be having. Any thoughts from anyone? After spening 14 hours in the last 2 days getting this thing together to on run into these problems, I'm about to LOSE IT!!!!

the premium system in most systems, the remote signal wire is not the same as aftermarket turn on, its too low voltage and if you use it straight, it makes for weird things. what you need is a remote turn on trigger such as:

PAC TR-4 (tr4) Trigger Modules Car Amplifier Installation & Accessories Car Audio/Video Installation & Accessories Car Audio, Video, & GPS Navigation - Sonic Electronix

that wire you tapped is the remote t urn on, but as you said, it does turn on as soon as the acc button is pushed regardless if the stereo is one or not, but htat shouldnt matter, having the system on idle mode produces no problems.

the bose amp does not need to be there for htis to work as far as i know. as for the eletrionic noise and distortion, that could be something else, keep in mind that the stock signal BEFORE the stock amp is VERY low voltage, and to get hte best SN ratio, a line driver of some kind, IMO is the best way to go.

see hswta happens if you take that factory remote wire OFF the amp and then just jump the poewr and the remote terminal on the amp wtih a pieec of wire, making the amp turn on that way, see if it still does the same thing.

b

add that and you are fine.

Thanks. I actually have a clean sweep that I took out of my other car sitting in my garage. That will give me the remote turn on I need and hopefully clean up the signal issues too. I had read that this wasn't necessary, but perhaps it's the way to go. I ran the system via ipod direct on the way down to work today (no sub yet, still need to build box) and holy crap it's an improvement. Just goes to show how weak the bose crap really is!!!

Thanks again for the input

Got the JL Clean Sweep installed tonight and my prior distortion and interference problems in the audio signal are gone and so is the remote turn on issue. Sounds great despite a temporary kicker truck box 10" sub.

Now what I have are questions as to if my clean sweep is functioning correctly. Getting a bit of odd behavior with it, but I'm going to do another post about that to try and wrangle as many Clean Sweep people in as I can.
