2010 Nav update?

When the 2010 G37 comes out, if I go to the Infiniti dealer, do you think they will allow me to update the Navigation on my 09 model(even for a price, it doesn't matter). Or will the new nav not be compatible?

Possibly the Zagat ratings can be added with an update since that's software.....but I don't think you can "update" the resolution of the nav screen as that would probably require a change in hardware.

^^^^ I'm pretty sure that's his question (regarding new hardware). I'm actually also interested in this since I'd LOVE having XM Weather and the higher res screen. I know that'll be an expensive upgrade, but it'll be interesting to find out. Any of the dealers on here have any info?

Well... not all of it is hardware, I mean can't the XM Weather, and like traffic stuff, and some of the new stuff be upgraded, without having to remove the screen and putting a new one in?

For $200... what do they do exactly? Do they replace everything, or just software? and what exactly are the new advancements?

I'd LOVE to be able to get the new Nav features added onto my G. Can anyone else check with their dealers and ask more specific questions?

Any updates on this topic?

1) What is the total cost?
2) Is the update worth the price?
3) What does the update encompass?
4) When will it be available?

i highly doubt the cost is $200. The screen alone will cost more than that. Plus dealer labor will prob be atleast 300-400. why spend to much to upgrade to this. in a few years they will prob come out with another new one.

you can never be on top of new technology

The only way to get the 2010' "new" navigation system will be to completely replace all the hardware. I'd guess closer to $2,000 than $200.

Please let us know specifically what it is they can do for you for $200.

Who knows if the wiring harnesses are the same/different -- there could be hundreds of feet of wiring that is totally different for 2010 -- i'd put the cost at $3500.00 plus labor *(and I doubt it's do-able)
