MP3 player (not I-pod)

I just bought a 2009 G37. I have an MP3 player, but not an I-Pod. Is there a way to hook this up the same way as an I-Pod or should I just break down and buy an I-Pod?

Well you can hook it up, but not through your iPod connector (as in you can't navigate through the controls in your car). You'll have to use the AUX port and navigate from your mp3 player.

It's called an iPod connector for a reason

I have a Zune right now, but thinking about just getting an Ipod just so I can navigate my music using the steering wheel.

I have both... even the old Zune is a better experience *for music*. The Zune HD takes it to another level. The software is better, the hardware is better, the sound quality is better, and you can't beat the all-you-can-eat Zune pass for music lovers.

I do like the iPod integration for the G though, so I use my Nano for the car and for work. If you want apps and something more like a de-featured computer, then the iPod Touch or iPhone is your best bet. For me, I'd prefer to have my music player be a music player first (not something with a lot of compromises).

Honestly if you're gonna buy the iPod for ur car, don't. The on screen navigation isnt that awesome, navigating through tracks is so effing annoying since theres no speed scroll feature

When I hold down the scroll button on the steering wheel for a second or two it seems to sorta "fast forward" the track numbers.
