Navigation system bug

Has anyone experienced a problem with the NAV system in which it tries to get you off the freeway many miles sooner than you should exit? This happened to me several times in Sacramento last week. Going home it wanted me to exit on side streets with over 300 miles to go. Thanks.

Check your Nav settings, i.e. Route Settings, and make sure it's set to Fastest Route. There are 2 other options (Minimize Freeway and Shortest Route) which would be one reason your Nav is taking you off the highway.

Thanks guys, that was it. I had the shortest route selected. I had never even looked at the route section. I thought all of the NAV options were in the settings section.
