Question CF vs USB! Which is more practical?

I honestly thing it's stupid to replace the CF drive with a USB drive. Having a USB drive is just calling for crap to be hanging all of the dash and in the way. Lean or press on an installed flash drive and you could break it or the USB port. I think the CF is so much more practical and clean looking. Who wants extra crap sticking out? Any portable players can be played right through the aux and ipod through the interface. Most new computers and laptops have SD slots. Sure you can get files from more different sources with a flash than with an SD, but does that really matter to the average Infiniti driver? If anything, they should have went with an SD slot!

What do you guys think?

At least you have the option, all we get here is the 6CD changer and an AUX port.. Working fine for me though

Depends if they limit the USB like they did with the CF. If they don't then USB all the way, with a short cord to loop it into the ash tray.

SD would have been better than CF.

USB wouldve been cool too, but not on the face of the radio, it would be nice in the armrest.

Honestly, SD is too small to fiddle around in the car and once you drop that thing, good luck finding it lol

The best solution is what Acura has: the iPod, as well as any USB device, attaches through a USB input in the console/armrest. So, you use the Apple cord for an iPod or, in the case of a thumb drive, you just plug it directly into the input. And I think Acura, or the TL at least, allows up to 12,000 files on a non-iPod device (as compared to 512 on the G's CF card).

But, of course, then you have to wait a couple of seconds for the TL to accelerate after you give it gas...

I agree...that would be perfect. They can leave the CF for all I care...but the additional connection in the armrest would be gold (as long as they don't cripple it like they limit the CF to 512 files)!

CF is more durable than SD or USB. The problem is you're not likely to have one unless you're a professional photographer.

I think I read the 2010 will support A2DP. Wonder if they'll catch up to 1999 and support reading mp3's off a dvd.

Oh, and maybe they'll fix the MB so it doesn't put space between the songs while they're at it.
