What bluetooth phone should I get
Looking for a compatible phone for my 2009 G37 sedan. I don't need one of those smartphones but I'm looking for a basic model with decent web browsing, nice screen and maybe a camera. It should also be lightweight because I carry my phone in my pant pockets most of the time.
In Hawaii it's now illegal to use a cellphone while driving. I got a couple of calls yesterday while driving but I couldn't answer them.

How much are you looking to spend (both on the actual phone and on the monthly plan)? And are you looking to get a phone for a specific network? (i.e. Verizon or AT&T)?
Are things any different in Hawaii regarding cell networks, etc?
The basic Motorola flip phone that I got free with my verizon contract works fine with the bluetooth (it has a decent camera, but no web-browsing)....most new phones these days (except the absolute cheapest) will work fine. Bluetooth is pretty standard.
When looking at phones with internet capabilities...remember, data plans aren't cheap.
if you haven't looked yet, cnet.com is a good source for cell phone reviews about their capabilities and pricing.

If you want a internet capable phone, I think you should get a smart phone like blackberry or iphone. No such thing as a basic phone with nice screen and good web browsing. If you do find a basic phone with these features, the resolution for web browsing will make it not worth it. got to pay to play
^+1 if you want any kind of web browser, best bet is an iPhone or crackberry. I've got an iPhone and the Bluetooth works great on it, and it's not bulky or heavy in my pocket at all
I have the iPhone as well, however Ive read articles suggesting that having the bluetooth enabled on the phone drains the battery quicker..I have yet to have that happen but I always have the adapter to charge the phone in the car..

yeah it definitely does drain the battery faster, but not so much that you'll be running out of battery in the middle of the day. I have WiFi and Bluetooth enabled on my phone 100% of the time and then every night I just plug my iPhone in to charge and I've never had a problem
