iPhone 3.0 Issues?

Any iPhone owners out there experiencing issues using the adapter since upgrading to 3.0? Since my upgrade, I'm not getting any sound when connected to my 2008 G37 via the iPod adapter that came with the car. I'm also getting a message on my iPhone that says the device is not compatible.

Pre 3.0, I never had issues. This really sucks! Any ideas?

I'm using my original cable from my '08 with the Griffin USB-Firewire adapter to connect my iPhone 3G with newly upgraded 3.0 operating system. So far (only one day of use) I have not had any problems at all. I do still get the "Airplane Mode" popup window as soon as I plug it in, but otherwise I have full charging and music capabilities.

I was told the newer iphones do not charge on my 2009 coupe with nav. I have the original iphone and it charges correctly. This came from the infiniti tech who explained all the electronics when I purchased the car.

Don't think it has anything to do with the Coupe rather 2.0 or the iPhone itself.

IT has to do with the phone. For the original Iphone any charger or adapter that you would plug into the phone will charge it. But now apple decided that for their 3G and 3gs they are going to put 2 less pins in the charging port so those previous chargers that worked on all the ipods and 2g iphone now dont work on the new phone. You can still use the phone for music but no charging. I bought an adapter that makes them charge so its al good

Because the iPod connector is a proprietary connector Apple gets a licensing check cut for every item that uses that connection. It’s to their benefit to have it change every couple of years, adds to the revenue stream. Much like firewire was supposed to do but lost due to the fact that intel allowed USB to be used royalty free thereby passing the far supperior firewire interface.
