Ah...So you were that woman they were talking about when I bought my car in Nov 07'. They mentioned a woman already pre-ordered one before they were on the lot.

If your dealership is charging $120/hour for labor then there's a lot of room to work with pricing considering it likely takes about 15 minutes to install. If your vehicle is a lease then there's no reason why your dealer shouldn't install the software for you at no charge since they'll have an updated version of the Nav when it's time to turn in your lease. Most vehicles still use DVD navigation software so the cost HDD navigation shouldn't be passed along to the consumer especially since this reduced the likelihood of pirating.
But again, upgrading your Navi software after a year is pointless, I would wait at least 3 years before considering a software upgrade. Are there any additional functions with the new software or just new mapped areas?
