Can't install Stealth Cord.

Hi Guys, I just ordered the stealth cord but I found that I have problem to install it properly. I know the black wire should go to the ground slot while red wire should go to the power slot. But I can't press those two probes....I tried very hard but they just don't fit in. Can someone tell me how to install those probes? Or how hard when you press those wires? Thanks in advanced.

You really gotta push em in there.

I had a hard time too.

What i did was pop apart the plug, youll see its actually 2 pieces, then i was able to put the probes in and snap it back together. Havent had any issues at all.

bump, i got my stealthcord and had an issue with the black prong too. It actually broke on me, so I'll have to stop at my local radio shack and try to buy two new prongs.

I just got mine yesterday, had a hard time too, the probe was bent in all ways cos i tried to force it in, what i ended up doing was getting a pair of pliers, the one with the flatter tip, and pinching the tip of the probe so that its slim and flat, didnt make it a lot easier, but i was able to get it in, and now its working great. hope that helps

Use a pair of needle nose pliers to hold the node and and to push it in. This gives you a bit more leverage.

Remove the broken piece from the mirror with a pair of needle-nose pliers or even tweezers. Even up the end of the stealth cord where it broke with a pair of wire cutters. Strip off about a quarter of an inch of the insulation and soak a drop of solder into the end of the stranded wires. Careful not to melt the hell out of the insulation. When this cools, shove it into the mirror connector with a pair of needle-nose pliers held just behind the solder.

i did use a needlenose and the black went in rather easy to the black, but the red... is where i spent a good 10mins trying to get in, and eventually snapped as it went to the brown... and pretty deep in to where i cant really pull it out even with tweezers so kinda need to get to it another way

i figure if i can pull apart the plug like one person mentioned, then i could just kinda clamp the exposed wire in there without soldering cus i dont wanna buy a soldering kit cus my old one doesnt work anymore

A pair of pliers is good but will actually just make it easier to bend the probe you're trying to insert. If it's too small a hole, the probe is gonna bend, period. The solution is to get a nice thick needle or something stiff and pointy like that, a little bit bigger diameter than the probe. Grab that with your pliers and jam that sucker into the area you want the probe to go, wiggle it around a bit and it will make just a little bit more room for the probe which will now fit; easier to insert, but still snug. So easy, a caveman can do it.

I just picked a corner, pushed the harness wire a little up and applied pressure to the prong and it went in with a little force.

invisichord makes two different sized prongs for their product. i had a problem with inserting the leads, so they sent me their thinner pronged version.
