Nissan/Infiniti 08-09 Navigation Head Units and Bluetooth issues
As most of you probably know there is a pretty widespread issue with Nissan/Infiniti 08-09 Navigation equipped Head Units and most (all?) Windows Mobile 6.1 phones.
I think that the issue effects enough people that we should be able come up with some type or organized complaint so that we can at least figure out who's equipment that the problem is caused by and what is being done to address the problem.
Symptoms:
Phone pairs with car fine, however when you attempt to make or answer a call, the person on the other end can't hear you at all. On your end you hear very garbled audio.
Messy Fix:
Once you answer a call, click the "Use handset" function on the navigation screen, then click "Use Bluetooth" to switch back to the car. At this point the call should be relatively clear.
Possible causes:
Microsoft Bluetooth stack bug with Windows Mobile 6.1
Mobile Phone manufacturer chipset or hardware issue
Nissan/Infiniti Firmware issue with bluetooth hardware in Navigation equipped HU
Interesting things to note:
Most complaints of this problem come from users with phones manufactured by HTC, but from what I can see on google there are other people with non HTC phones and windows mobile 6.1 that also have the problem.
People have been able to downgrade their HTC phones from windows mobile to 6.1 to earlier versions and the problem apparently goes away.
People with older HTC phones that run windows mobile 5.0 or 6.0 do not have this problem.
Things that may correct this problem:
Microsoft is working on Windows Mobile 6.5 that maybe come out soon.
Nissan/Infiniti should have an navigation software update that could possibly also update the bluetooth firmware?

I'll admit the IPHONE is an awesome peice of hardware but even if I was given one for free, the plan required to use one without worrying about crazy overage charges through AT&T is not worth the cost.
I have an unlimited Data plan through Sprint for $30/month so I don't plan on giving that up just for a phone any time soon.
At any rate... I'd love to collect more data on how many phones are effected by this "bug"
Keng, if you have a touch not upgraded to 6.1 yet then please give it a shot and let us know if you have the same problem.

Mine does not exhibit any of the problems mentioned in this thread.
I have a Samsung SCH-i760 with Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional on Verizon Wireless. Originally shipped with WM6, and later upgraded to 6.1:
CE OS 5.2.19202 - Build 19202.1.0.0
PDA S/W Version S:i760.07 V.BD14.19202
Phone S/W Version S:i760.07 V.BD14
Eboot: 02.00
H/W Version H:i760.07 V.Q
PRL / ERI P:50989 E:00004
Bluetooth 2.0+EDR
IEEE 802.11b/g
It wouldn't hurt to check Windows Update on your mobile device if you can.

I have a Samsung SCH-u900 flip shot without Windows Mobile, and I just started having the problem about 2-3 weeks ago. I wasn't sure if the problem was with the phone or car, but the phone works fine with my Acura, so it must be a problem with the G. It seems like the "mute" button is activated. In fact last week I hit the "mute on" then the "mute off" buttons on the nav screen, and everything worked, for a while. Unfortunately, that was the last time anyone could hear me through the bluetooth link. It is a little difficult sometimes to hold the phone with my left hand, shift with my right hand, and steer with my knees! Since we now have snow in Pa, I won't be driving my G much. I'll try to give my dealer a call this week, maybe by the time the snow is gone they'll have a fix. What ticks me off is that this phone is on the list of Infiniti approved phones. If Infiniti didn't approve the phone, I wouldn't have bought it. Plus it worked fine for about a month before that (except that the sound quality was less than I had on my Acura).
