So my friend wants to get rid of his 2g iphone to get the 3g... and i have at&t... so i insert my sim but it didn't work... i didn't think i'd have to unlock the phone since that's for other networks? Not so sure... and another question I have is if i start using the iPhone, would they start charging me for the dataplan or will i have to go to them and tell them i want the dataplan? My friend said they would automatically charge me for data plan and renew my contract if i use the iPhone... but that doesn't seem right...

edit: maybe it's my sim card too? i have a cingular one... but obviously it's an on the at&t network... do i need a new sim?

 

Yeah, i would probably get a new sim and see if that works. Oh, and make sure you tell them you want the iphone data plan... AT&T is known to charge a hole in the face for things like this.

a buddy of mine had a LG Vu and he used the mobile TV thing for 1 week, his bill was 4500 dollars. He showed it to me!!
