Jeez I post something up explaining my thoughts--wondering what other people thought--and all I get is a bunch of people either being sarcastic and/or complaining that they think I insulted them. For me there was no way that the nav package could be worth all that money when there are much cheaper alternatives that I actually like more, ignoring price; I was just wondering what exactly made other people make the opposite decision.

Sorry Souljaboy... I think we just have a bunch of jokers here.

IMO, the Nav is worth it. I like have the touchscreen, voice commands, integration of everything into one, etc. Is the price high... Sure, but a convenience I was willing to pay for. Others may not and that's why it is an option. I had a 2005 G35 before getting the 37 and said the same thing you did... I regretted not getting it after a while.

soldier9599,

I have a Pathfinder SE that I have an aftermarket NAV for. It too is integrated into the dash however. I decided not to get the factory NAV in it because all of the other options were not worth it to me or my wife. My wife could care less about all the tech stuff and she primarily drives it. There were other things about that vehicle that moved us to buy it yet we still deemed a NAV system to be usefull. So I kinda see what you are saying. But the way that you phrased your post turned most of us off.

Do a simple Google search. GPS theft is rampant no matter where you live.

I have a TomTom unit I take w/ me for business travel and while it does the job, I greatly prefer the operation of the Infiniti's Nav.

It was your wording bro. It seemed insulting to many that have the NAV system. You were basically calling people stupid for getting it. I read your other post though and you too said your wording could have been better.

It's all good though. Not everyone likes the NAV and some prefer an external NAV system. You didn't like the integrated NAV system so you didn't get it. No problems with that. Enjoy the car!

^ Exactly what he said. I can respect that you personally don't like the Nav package and you feel that you did a great thing by saving yourself money and getting something that you like better. That's cool. But it seemed like you were insulting those of us who did opt to pay for it. No harm, no foul. It might have been wise to consider how you came across to readers of you posts, especially since you are new here.

wow a thread made to express ur opinion about the navi system which u dont even have

that's like saying why not save even more money than just $2200 by getting urself a civic? or accord? they're cars on 4 wheels that take u from point A to point B and also save u on gas

watever floats ur boat, like i always say....

Well that's relative to where you live...I live in a safe neighbourhood but there are punk teenagers the prowl looking for petty theft all the time. My Escort 8500 x50 was stolen out of an Accord at my house the ONE NIGHT we forgot to lock the car. It can happen anywhere anytime.

+1 I couldnt have said it better. What are you trying to accomplish here? ALL OF US that got nav are well aware of the $200-300 plug and play sets available and we still got NAV. We were well aware of the price difference and the pros and cons of both and we still got NAV. We got what we got cause we wanted it. If you don't want it - don't get it. If you can save a buck or two on what you don't need - all the more power to you. You're thread is not news to anyone and I doubt you changed any nav user's thoughts on getting nav. Pretty pointless thread.

Personally I had zero need for the Nav. To get this car on my budget, a $2500 upgrade for Nav could not be justified considering I drive the same roads everyday, and when i do go somewhere different I know the roads back to front. Nav isn't really needed in my town, especially in the city. All I needed was the 6MT and Prem package, and love the kick plates too!

I do like it though, and if I had some extra cash I would have got the package, mainly for the camera to protect the car (my wife had an incident last weekend with her car and some concrete!!!). I also liked the ability to subscribe for live traffic, and the unit is pretty classy.

Same for me. The nav barely depreciates so you get most of your money back and have a much more desirable car.
