Update to Nav?

How would one go about getting their maps updated? I have noticed on several occasions (only having my G for a few weeks) that the maps are out-of-date.

GPS systems are commonly about 2 years out of date. I'm hoping we'll get an email or phone call from Infiniti.. that might be wishful thinking though. You can call Zenrin, they may be able to tell you when the next version will be available http://www.zenrin.com/index.html 1-800-777-0325. Last I heard they were still working out how to do the update, this is their first HD based system.

At the bottom of the Zenrin site it says that Nissan and Infiniti maps will be updated every fall/winter. So we probably have a while to wait before any new data will be available.

The update that was supposed to be released back in December has been pushed out until August.

And how would you update it? I would think through the CF slot?

I"m betting you'll have to bring it to the dealership. They may update the data once a year, but you can get a new update and find roads that were added two years ago still not in the database. Zenrin does their own mapping, I'll be looking for my 3 year old sub division expansion to be included.

That was my assumption as well Ted, but this came directly from Zenrin.

"You will have to get an update code from our company and then have the system updated at your local dealership. Please contact us then or visit our website as we will have more information."

Time will tell I guess, but I still think a customer install via CF card is possible......just a gut feeling though.

My dealer in Palm Beach told me that I could get it done once a year at the dealership but I am really, really impatient. August is too far away especially for those of you that bought it shortly after it came out.

Thanks for the info guys.
