I have a C350 Sport and IS350 both with navigation in the family stable and I can verify the Infiniti Nav system is leagues better then either.

That's good to hear it's the best to come with a car, I was refering to aftermarket Navs like the Nuvi. It's very handy to be able to enter a business name like best buy, safeway, mall, infiniti, Mortons ect... and have them appear ordered by distance. It's like having a mobile yellow pages. We're limited to ATMs, hotels, Gas stations, rest stops and restaurants. Shopping would have been a nice addition. Also when doing a nearby places search it only displays 5, that's pretty tarded there's no next page or am I missing something?
Nuvi also has MSN integration and will display currently playing movies, times and theaters and then take you there. Gas pirces of nearby gas stations is kind of novel, but not as useful.
As Navs go the infiniti system is good, it's fast at recalculating which is very nice, it's just way short on POI in comparison to what you get with aftermarket.

the ICC trips laser detectors? Does that mean if you have ICC you can't have a laser detector yourself because it will constantly be going off?

It's not that I'm cheap, I just don't see me wanting any of those options. DVD navigation? hell yea! 9gb music drive? yup! Backup camera? Yes! 19" sport wheels? Yes! Bluetooth phone interface? iPod? Yes and Yes! Headlights that follow the steering wheel? No.

Get the idea?

In a nut shell you want the premium and nav, but you will not be dissapointed if you don't get the tech or 4ws package. I'm happy with the car without the last two packages mentioned. I don't think that they make a cheap feeling G37.

Tech package is a nice luxury.. I got it and i used IIC maybe twice.. its cool you set your max cruise speed and it adjusts tot he speed of the car in front of you...

The pre crash seatbelt was cool..... Iwas driving on tot he freeway excelerating to match traffic flow.... this DumbA@@ cuts infront of the car in front of me and so... he slams his brakes.. i slam mine... and i heard what sounded llike the seatbelt winding back.... and actually felt the seat belt tightening itself to me.... pretty nifty safety feature... luckily i was far enough behind him my new g was safe. =)

AFL .. lights are cool.. it turns when you turn and you see into yrou turns better...

Also got sport package.. it makes the car look more aggressive,...

4 wheel steering i did without as it was not important to me... i've read that it also created some problems with over steering for some who weren't use to it...

anyhow.. is this ALL neccesary .. well no.. but then.. is a G37 neccesary.. maybe a civic is more practical.... an extra couple of grand into a car you'll probaly have a for awhile seems all worth it..

I just got an Escort 9500i radar/laser detector. They say on their site that if you have a car with laser ICC, you can send it to them so they can tweak the algorithms/sensitivity to cut down on falses.

I got the detector and sent it right to them so I don't know if it was an issue. Haven't gotten it back yet.

I'm going to be buying a laser jammer in the next few months (waiting to hear more about the Escort ZR4) and will likely need to pull the fuse on the ICC/Brake Preview to use it.
