Well, we got it to work. You need a 100-120ohm resistor between AV Comm Low and High and then the buttons will function. Next steps, figure out serial, unlock the drive, and maybe see if those GT-R menus can be unlocked.

Any more info on how you unlocked those menus? Did you manage to get UART working on the AV unit? If so, can you share any more details?

Eh, I haven't made much progress. Hopefully he can share some more info with us. I have to get an IDE cable... i threw mine all out like an idiot, then I can try unlocking the drive. Pretty sure we need serial access to unlock those menus though.
