Sorry, but I'm not paying $175USD for a program that I will literally use only one (1) time. And even then there is no guarantee that it will work.

Plus, for those reading- don't bother with the "demo" version. It does absolutely nothing. Also, several searches have not yielded any "unlocked" versions of the software.

Seriously, thank you for the lead, but I'm too cheap for that frivolity.

Yeah that's nuts.... $175.

I did find an old PC with IDE in my pile, and a laptop IDE to IDE adapter, so I could give it a try. Just need to get my hands on a spare drive.

I apparently still have a functional Lenovo 8172 with onboard IDE, and no OS, so... just saying.

YES, please post a link to it.

I enjoyed going through the Egrand files you posted earlier.
Some of the RCL files had over 4,000 images used for the display.

In looking for text in the BIN files, there were some interesting items:

"CAN ID0x%03x:0x%02x
20 | | tx log enable
21 | | tx log disable
30 | | err log enable
31 | "

and

"../SI/08/X2J9/SOFT/APP0032/AUDIO/PLAYER/USBAUDIO/SRC/acl_usbaudioplay.c"

Well, interesting to me, but not really useful

Since Ghidra supports the SH series of processors, I might try to look at the disassembled code and maybe something will stand out.

What size were the images?
The Infiniti boot up images I grabbed were 455 x 232 and a little larger would be nice.

The ones I found were 606x288, still not very big but usable.

Has anyone got the thing running on the bench? I got it up, can't get the buttons working yet.

My test rig would never boot up. Always "hung" up (unless I have a dud head unit). How did you manage to get it to load? Just straight power/ground?

uh sort of, if you look at the diagram there are multiple inputs for power, ground and ACC. i think there's like 6 of them, same with grounds.

btw, is there a writeup for unlocking the drive and mounting it?

I must have a dud head unit then... I get the Infiniti splash screen then it just... stops...

This thread pretty much explains the unlocking procedure. You do know the HDD has to be removed from the headunit first? My plan is/was to unlock the HDD and clone it to a SSD. Eventually.

Then, after the HDD is unlocked, this thread will explain how to mount the HDD/headunit and access the programming/feature lists.

I'll read through em. I can google translate the text, but hopefully the images don't have anything important in them.
Yeah I already removed the drive. I found an old PC with IDE in my pile of stuff, and even an IDE USB enclosure so i'll see if i can do anything with it.

btw, i tried booting with no HDD and I only get a splash screen as well. maybe your HDD is a dud?
