Frustrated with voice recognition

I have only had to officially use the Nav twice so far. I have been disapointed twice with the recogition of the city name. BTW, I did use the training feature in the settings.

I had trouble with "Lincoln"

I had trouble with "Attleboro"

Maybe it's just my voice? It seems to work fine for the most part, but it is super frustrating trying to get it to accept it 10 times and keep pressing the back button.

Anyone else have trouble with this as well? I feel like bringing it into the dealer and see if he can get it to accept the city names I am having trouble with.

Well maybe your not speaking English clearly, Maybe you should change the language settings to Spanish or something. It might be easier for you. Hahaha

Im just kidding, you can actually program the navigation to recognize your voice , so that it picks up your pronunciations better. Go look it up in the navigation manual. Don't go to the dealer, they might laugh at you or something.

That's why I mentioned in my original post I already TRAINED it, are you talking about something different? I did the 15 minute say what I say thing.

Maybe it's my Boston accent (well, RI really!)

That is why I opted a G37 without nav.... spare me the frustration. I am having trouble entering and dialing phone numbers as it is. Maybe they don't like native New Yorkers (who moved to Houston)

Actually, Nissan didn't program in the YAT dialect. I hear an update is coming though. They recently relocated three Chalmations and a guy from Westwego to Japan. The ship should arrive by Mardi Gras, and the shipping container will clear customs by Jazz Fest.

Now that post means nothing to the rest of the world, but I wanted to give my "Potna" a Holiday shout and a little taste of home.

Back to the original post - I don't have any problems with the voice rec system at all. It may actually be an issue with dialects though.

It picks up some inflections and not others - mine doesn't pick up certain cities when I say it, but when my gf tries, it works just fine. One more reason to keep her around :-)
