Intelligent Key not working

It looks like the buttons on the intelligent key I use have stopped working. I cannot lock the doors, open the trunk or doors, or use the panic button on the key. It looks like it is dead but I can still unlock the doors by pressing the door handle button when I am next to it along with starting the car. The key looks like it still works except for the buttons. Anyone have an idea what the problem could be and how to fix it?

Why are you sweating this? That's what your warranty is for. The dealer will take care of you.

The RFID in the keyfob is passive, and is still working. The transmitter in the keyfob, however is not. Battery?

I was wondering about that. I was wondering if maybe there was someother faulty part in the key since it still worked otherwise. I wouldn't think it would be the battery in less it is a bad battery. I hardly ever use it so I dought it could be dead already.

If you keep it in your pocket, and something presses continuously against the buttons, it will run the battery down. Like if you take your pants off, toss them on the floor next to the hamper and your iphone sits on top of the keyfob overnight. Not that I have any personal experience with this, mind you.

The salesman who sold me my car told me NOT to keep my cellphone around the key. That they have been having a ton of problems with cellphone decoding the key rendering them useless.

^^That has been fixed on the G37. It was a known issue with earlier 07 G35's.
