4080 Subwoofer Enclosure
Please let Ainslie know if you plan to use the Image Dynamics IDQV3 as it is an oversized 10 in. sub with a mounting hole requirement of 9.6 inches... we will have to modify the mouting ring for this sub for your enclosure... and, yes, it will sound great (be sure to have 400 RMS or so for this one as it does need some pwr).
I am not familar with the "IDQV3". I know the enclosure will work with the IDQ10D2 V.2 and the ID10D2 V.3. The cut out diameters for both of these subs is 9.125".
I do not see the IDQV3 on the Image Dynamics website. Are you refering to the IDMAX10D4 V.3? That sub has a cut out diameter of 9.6"...this sub will not work with our enclosures.
Thanks,
4080
[QUOTE=4080;2273507]Internal air space is .85 cuft. No, this does not include sub displacement since that varies from sub to sub.
If your subwoofer requires more than .85 cuft., I suggest that you fill the box with poly-fill. Poly-fill is mainly used for stuffing pillows, it's that white stuffing. Poly-fill can be found at any arts and crafts store (Hobby Lobby has it).
For every 12 oz. of poly-fill that you stuff into a 1 cuft. enclosure, the sub will "see" a 30% increase in air space. This should more than compensate for any air space loss displaced by the

Even this is debatable as I and many others notice really no difference in audible sound. Although Qtc and Fs are altered and in turn affect the frequency response, the question is whether there is actually a noticeable auditory change.
The IDQ V3 is their new replacement for the IDQ V2, which has come to an end of production... It isn't on their site, yet. The Polk SR is an awesome sub, though.
Polyfill does work great in small to medium sealed enclosures, though at .85 cu. ft. sealed, only a very select few subs will require it a different packing densities for the desired system Q. Alot of wind can be wasted on this subject... just ask Ainslie if you need it, he's "been there and done that" with the best of them...

So I swapped out my rockford p300-1 amp and toxic audio sub for a JL Audio 500/1 V2 amp and a JL Audio 10w6v2, using a temporary box till the 4080 comes in. HOW IN THE WORLD DO YOU NEED MORE BASS THAN THAT?!?!?!?! I feel my insides turning to mush it hits so freaking hard. I am good with just the driver side box. Thank you.
As I have stated previously, one box is sufficient. Unless you are trying to compete. I still remember my 4080 box from the G35 coupe, which I was very thankful to have a bass **** during long trips.

Is that first 15 discount still open?
Earlier you said only driver side for now, but on the website you say passenger! What a tease! When do you think the passenger side would be ready? If soon I'd sign up for two today.
Also, I'm looking to use two Oz Matrix Elite 10's. I see that the depth on the 4080 is 7'' on the passenger side. The depth of the Oz sub is 6.5''. I'm guessing thats enough space in between?
What I'm not sure of is the diameter. The 4080 is 9.25'' whereas the Ozs are 9.125''. I'm not sure if thats fine or not (I'm guessing it is). Can you give me a yay or ney on that?
Thanks for the help....the boxes look amazing so far btw! Looking foward to those new pics.

Sorry, I corrected the website. We only offer the driver side box for now. Your Oz sub will work just fine.
Thanks,

Final G37 coupe box pics
Here is the first completed enclosure pulled from the moulde. The enclosure has been wrapped in custom dyed carpet that matches the G37's trunk perfect. One of the pics proves that a JL 10W6V2 will fit perfect in the enclosure. We should have in car pictures very soon. We are still on schedule for mid March. We hope to start laying up boxes this week actually. I will keep everyone updated on when they will ship.
Thanks, 4080
