The JL 10W3 will def fit. I need to check the mounting depth on Monday. I believe it is 8". A JL 10W6V2 will also fit fine.

Thanks, 4080

any other suggestions?
I'm going to be replacing the entire system except the head unit, so I will likely mount them in the locations where the factory Bose amps are (underneath the plastic on the driver side that makes up the trunk floor).

Whats internal volume on this box? And is this volume with a general sub displacement taken into account?

you guys should be in on this. i bought his g35c enclosure and matched it up with a 10w6v2. love it.

obviously if you're looking to run W7s and multiple subs etc it won't work but I gotta imagine that for most people just looking to add nice clean sub to their setup it will work very well. i have my 10w6v2 fed by a 500/1 and also changed the fronts to focal 165k2p via 300/2 and use bose for amp/speakers elsewhere. the whole setup is driven by computer. as i said i love it. the 4080 box enables you to pick from a few good subs and again, if you're looking to just add some nice sub range to your setup- even if you like to play loud- you should be very pleased.

ok guys, time to make a decision. I'll be listening to mainly rock, some hip-hop, and generally I don't like the music very loud. I'm more interested in sound quality and not SPL.

I've already decided on which amp I'm getting - the JL Audio 250/1v2.

As far as speakers... should I go with a 10w3 or the w6? Remember that I'll be keeping everything else stock and I really don't need the sub to overpower the rest of the system. Any suggestions?

BTW, 4080, for those that have already paid, when should we start expecting the enclosures? <no rush... do a good job>

Go with the 10w3 since you are not upgrading the rest of your system. Also, 4080 has already stated by mid-March if not sooner.

Internal air space is .85 cuft. No, this does not include sub displacement since that varies from sub to sub.

If your subwoofer requires more than .85 cuft., I suggest that you fill the box with poly-fill. Poly-fill is mainly used for stuffing pillows, it's that white stuffing. Poly-fill can be found at any arts and crafts store (Hobby Lobby has it).

For every 12 oz. of poly-fill that you stuff into a 1 cuft. enclosure, the sub will "see" a 30% increase in air space. This should more than compensate for any air space loss displaced by the subwoofer.

Thanks,

From listening to your needs, I believe the 10W3 will be your best choice out of the two subs. I still think the Polk SR124 (signature series) is the best sub for the $$$. I am selling them for $180 each. I can install them in the box for you guys before i ship. I will need to add $25 to cover the freight of the box AND sub though.

Our ETA for the G37 enclosures is mid March

Thanks,

Image Dynamics IDQ V3

Please let Ainslie know if you plan to use the Image Dynamics IDQV3 as it is an oversized 10 in. sub with a mounting hole requirement of 9.6 inches... we will have to modify the mouting ring for this sub for your enclosure... and, yes, it will sound great (be sure to have 400 RMS or so for this one as it does need some pwr).
