ipod and iphone??

I have read a few post about some people having issues with their iphone not wanting to work when they try to use the ipod portion of it. So do anyone of you keep and ipod plugged in and use the iphone for just the bluetooth phone? I am getting an iphone now but already have a nano with a broken screen in my consol which i never remove. so i think i am just going to keep it that way, ipod nano in the car all the time iphone just for the phone in the car.... anyone else do this?

yep.. i use a 160gb classic in the car all the time.. my iphone goes in/out with me. twice a week i sync my classic with my mac to get the latest podcasts.. other than that it lives in the console.

Do you need to turn the ipod off and on every time or will it do everything by itself and just leave it plugged in?
