There are 2 G coupes on fitment industries running those, only one Sport model. There isn't a crazy difference in suspension geometry between the S and xS, so seems like it should work. https://www.fitmentindustries.com/wh...dvan-apex-v601
Hey everyone, I'll be happy to follow up with pictures after installation, I just have fitment questions. I've looked everywhere online for answers and there's so much information that it's hard to tell exactly what I need. I have:
- 2010 G37 convertible RWD
- BC racing coilovers
- Z1 big brake kit (pretty much just akebonos from my understanding)
I'm looking to do a flush, staggered setup with GramLights. 18x9.5" in front and 18x10.5" in rear. I just don't know what offsets to get. I will either go with 57DR or 57CR depending on availability.
I see a bunch of clean, flush setups running anywhere from +22 to +38 offsets in the front. What offset should I run in the front for 18x9.5" GramLights to have flush fitment? And then same question for the rears, knowing I'm going with a 18x10.5". Would +30 offset in front and +22 offset in the rear make sense?
This is a big purchase and I want to do it right from the beginning, so I'll take all the ammo/ insight I can get. Mods, please remove this post if I'm just bogging down the thread for no reason but like I said, I'll be happy to follow up with pictures of the finished product once I'm done!
I've never looked into custom wheels, but the offset topic confuses so many that I thought I'd take a stab at figuring it out. 18" OEM RWD G37 Sport Model: Front: 18"x7.5". Offset +45mm Rear: 18"x8.5". Offset +50mm
I added +15mm spacers, and I'm about 5mm away in the rear and 10mm away in the front from being "flush".
Since the spacer pushes the wheel out (per the pic above), I'm assuming that the hub is added to the factory wheel offset.
Front: 18"x7.5". Offset +45mm, now 60mm with spacer Rear: 18"x8.5". Offset +50mm, now 65mm with spacer
Add the difference I noted which is needed for flushness:
Front: 18"x7.5". Offset +45mm, now 60mm->70mm (+10mm) Rear: 18"x8.5". Offset +50mm, now 65mm->70mm (+5mm)
Am I on the right track, or just adding to the confusion as the wheel width in inches likely also needs to be converted to mm then subtracted :-)

If you can ever make sense of it all you're a better man than I’ll ever be. All that offset gibberish drives me loony. Give me a wiring schematic any day!
Kudos to those to whom this wheel stuff is "second nature."

I made a video explaining offset and I hope it helps.
adding a spacer makes the effective offset lower.
front oem spec 7.5” +45, with 15mm spacer, now becomes +30.
rear oem spec 8.5” +50, with 15mm spacer, now +35.

the Gramlight 57CR and DR are made with brake clearance in mind.
for a coupe/vert, I think 9.5” +12 front with 10.5” +22 would look good and have roughly the same fitment.
this fitment does poke some if you are on stock alignment, front and rear.
going 9.5” +22 works also and is closer to a flush fitment, but the 10.5” +22 will poke more which is why I suggested going 9.5” +12

I feel the same way. Voltage dividers, capacitive and inductive reactance, signal propagation, straightforward. Moving the center of a wheel with various widths and heights, feels like a calculus problem.

Interesting. I think I oversimplified by thinking that since the center if the wheel is being pushed out, the offset increased. That would only be true if the width of the wheel also increased by 15mm, hence "effective offset".
Does anyone know if Enkei 18x9.5 38mm offset T6R will fit over stock big sport brakes on a 2013xs coupe? i am looking to order them for black friday but am not finding clear answers as to whether they will fit or not. TireRack says they wont but fitment industries says they will. Anyone know of anyone running these without a spacer?
UPDATE:
I bought the Enkei t6rs 18x9.5 38mm, I love them they fit no issues with tire rub or the akebono big brakes. The first two pics is them on stock fitment, the other 2 are on bc racing coils, still no rubbing issues.

My wheels came in yesterday (yes Gram Lights in the living room)! 18 x 9.5" +22 in front, and 19 x 10.5" +22 in rear. I ended up purchasing a wheel fitment tool and those were the offsets that made the most sense. My follow up question is in regards to tires.
Do any of you have recommendations as to what tires/ sizes I should run? I want a relatively meaty fitment like the GTR is running above. I went to a local tire shop and they suggested Michelin Pilot Sports, 225/50R18 in front and 265/40R18 in rear. Would those measurements get me a similar fitment, or are there other sizes/ brands/ configurations you'd suggest?
As always, thank you so much for the feedback, I'll take all the ammo I can get. I'll follow up with pictures again after install to share what the finished product looks like
