Help "push" in rear
"push" in rear
My local tuner shop said I could run into a "push" in rear by going with a staggered 9.5 / 10.5 +22 offset. They recommend 8.5 +30 / 9.5 +35. I'm looking at ESR AP5C wheels for my 2011 coupe sport RWD on stock suspension. Anyone ever heard of this before and is it accurate? Any opinions are welcomed and appreciated..
"push" as in understeer pushing? Running staggered at the limit can have this tendency.
What's weird is they say that about the staggered combo of 9.5" / 10.5" but their recommended 8.5" / 9.5" is the same staggered variation.
Did they mean to suggest a square 9.5" +35? This is a good spec to run if you want to go with a wider tire without excessive camber to fit them.

Upgrade your swaybars, and understeer pretty much goes away, irrespective of the staggered fitment. I've got 8.5" in the front and 10.0" in the rear, and I don't push.
Never heard that term used for understeer. Makes sense, though.

My first thought was they were referring to poke. They said G37s have a narrower rear end than say a 350z which is more suited for a 9.5 /10.5 set up.
I always forget that while the wheelbase is a little over 10 inches shorter, that the Z is wider than the G by roughly 3 inches.

depending on the offset, you can have the same fit with the 9.5”/10.5” combo as the 8.5”/9.5” combo
8.5” +30 = 9.5” +43
9.5” +30 = 10.5” +43
fitment is at the fender of course.
